The Welch Medical Library is hosting an exhibition titled "Hearing History: The Robert J. Ruben Collection of Otolaryngological Instruments". it will be displayed on the second floor exhibition gallery of the Welch Medical Library, East Reading Room, 1900 E. Monument St., August 29 – November 25, 2024.
Hearing History explores the history of otology and otolaryngology by examining the scientific and medical instruments essential to the development of these specialties. All objects in this exhibition are gifts of Dr. Robert J. Ruben, M.D.
Dr. Ruben is the Distinguished University Professor and Chairman Emeritus of the Departments of Otorhinolaryngology and Pediatrics at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the Montefiore Medical Center, a Johns Hopkins School of Medicine alum, and a scholar of the history of medicine.
