Welch Library's inclement weather policy

Happy New Year!

The weather temperatures has been relatively mild so far, but it is still fairly early in the winter season. On occasion, during a weather emergency, decisions to close or change hours can occur at the last minute, and library staff may not be available to make updates or notifications on our website or social media channels in such an event.

We strive to provide as much notice as possible, but in the event we are unable to, here is the general guideline we follow:

Welch Library's unscheduled (inclement weather or emergency) policy:

• If JHU is closed or classes are canceled, Welch Library Services will be closed.
• If JHU announces a delayed opening or early closing time, Welch Library Services will open/close at the newly designated time.

In all other cases, library services will be available during posted operating hours. As always, online resources are available 24/7 right here at our website.
