Whether you are a new or returning student, staff, or faculty member, Welch Medical Library serves the informational needs of those in the JHU School of Medicine, School of Nursing, School of Public Health, and the Johns Hopkins Health System.
The mission of Welch Library is “to advance discovery, education, and health care by providing leadership in the research, management, and sharing of knowledge.”
To help with your research and academic needs, Welch Library informationists offer individual or group library orientations.
Here is a list of some of the things informationists can cover in an orientation session:
- how to find full-text articles
- what is Interlibrary Loan (aka Weldoc) and how to use it
- how to use databases, like PubMed, Embase and Scopus
- how to use citation management tools, such as RefWorks
- how to use the Hopkins catalog (aka Catalyst)
- and more! See our list of other services here.
To schedule an individual or a group orientation, find your informationist at https://welch.jhmi.edu/about/informationists. They are available to assist with navigating the Welch Library website as well as assist in your research.
For Hopkins affiliates, our website provides access to both the print and online collections of the collective Johns Hopkins libraries including over 150,000 journals and just under a million e-books.
Welch Library’s online collection also includes approximately 20,000 journals and 1,200 databases. To access these resources, go to the website’s home page and search for Journals, Databases, and Books.
Welcome to the Welch Library!
