We are pleased to announce that Anne K. Seymour, M.S., has been named associate dean of Johns Hopkins University’s William H. Welch Medical Library. This title recognizes the outstanding contributions of Ms. Seymour, director of the Welch Medical Library since 2014, to the academic mission of the school of medicine, the school of nursing and the Bloomberg School of Public Health. This designation also highlights the value of the Welch Medical Library resources and services to education, research and clinical care in all three health professions schools.
Ms. Seymour holds faculty appointments in all three schools and is "the face" of the Welch Medical Library to our faculty and staff; to medical, graduate, nursing and public health students; to residents and clinical fellows; to research postdoctoral fellows; to health professionals in Johns Hopkins affiliated hospitals and ambulatory clinical care sites; to health professions school deans and leadership of Johns Hopkins Health System; to other libraries — both inside and outside Johns Hopkins — and, more broadly, to medical schools and teaching hospitals across the world. Even before the pandemic made remote access a priority, Ms. Seymour expanded the library’s delivery of virtual resources and services to faculty, staff and learners throughout the university.
Please join us in congratulating Ms. Seymour on this well-deserved and important recognition.
