Online Access

Additional Access Instructions

Software Requirement: Because the database contains archaic Chinese characters that are not part of the Unicode standard, there is no direct URL that references the database in an internet browser. Instead, you must download special browser software from the landing page, which can only  be run on Windows. Once the software is installed, the database can be launched from the Programs menu on your computer and then accessed by clicking on “IP Login.” Currently, the database publisher cannot provide remote access support. For the IP login to work, you must be on the Hopkins network, either on campus or using the Hopkins VPN, to access the database.
