Spouses, domestic partners, and dependents of Johns Hopkins University and Medicine affiliates may borrow from the Johns Hopkins University Libraries, including Welch.

Library cards must be renewed every year.

Requesting privileges for spouses

Spouses and same-sex partners of faculty, staff, and currently enrolled students may borrow from all the libraries of the Johns Hopkins University according to the policies set up by the individual libraries. A library card should be applied for from the library serving the division where the spouse is employed or enrolled. To ensure that access to library services continues without interruption, cards must be renewed every year. A photo ID is required to enter Hopkins libraries.

Requesting privileges for dependents of faculty and staff

Dependents of faculty and staff may borrow from all the libraries of the Johns Hopkins University according to the policies set up by the individual libraries. A library card should be applied from the library serving the division where the faculty, staff member is employed. The extent of privileges may vary from library to library. Dependents are usually full-time students between the ages of 18 and 26 or non-students who are 18 to 19 years old. To ensure that access to library services continues without interruption, cards must be renewed every year. A photo ID is required to enter Hopkins libraries.
